Where In The World Is Norm!

Ricky,

I certainly would not say that Johnny kicked me off TV. As for what Johnny is rumored as saying or not, I couldn't say because I haven't spoken with Johnny for several weeks. I know that while I was on the air there people tried very hard to pit us against one another or to have us saying contradictory things and I never would play along with such attempts. I have always said that the best way to avoid rumors is to go to the source and find out for yourself. I appreciate you doing that. I don't know what Johnny is saying and I will not comment on what others are attributing to him without hearing him say it for myself. It doesn't really matter what anyone says about me, it never has and it never will. My reputation, integrity and work speak for themselves. It sounds like you were a regular viewer of Bible Q-n-A so I will ask you, was I soft or "wimpy" toward denominations? My teaching was broadcast live just like his, I will let that speak for itself.

As to where I am and what I am doing. I am no longer preaching in Danville, VA. I have moved to Louisiana where I am preaching for the Bawcomville church of Christ in West Monroe. I did not leave the church of Christ nor did I leave the work of preaching. I am not pursuing other endeavors, I am a preacher of the Gospel. I am serving the Lord under the oversight of sound elders of the Lord's church. I will continue the Bible Q-n-A program and will be posting the video on the Bible Q-n-A web site.

As for the reason I left Danville. It was because I was not getting the support I needed to provide for my family and do the work there. After I had already decided that I would have to leave due to the lack of support, the Martinsville congregation informed me that they would be pulling my support in 60 days and that since they were paying for the TV program they did not want me to continue doing it. I informed them that I would not need 60 days and I was prepared to move immediately.  I was not asked to leave by the Danville congregation and, to the best of my knowledge, they did not want me to leave. What part Johnny might have played in the decisions of the Martinsville congregation to drop my support I do not know.

In an effort to cease the rumor mill, I will post this email to the Bible Q-n-A web site. If anyone cares to talk to me about any of these things they can contact me, just as they always could have, on my web site. This site is mine, as is the Bible Q-n-A program, and stay with me wherever I go. The phone number will change and I will post the new number when I get it.

In The Service Of Christ,
Norm Fields

There are rumors going around the Johnny kicked you off TV?  There is some rumors going around.  Here is a direct quote . "A number of sources have been reporting to me in the past few months that there was some friction between Robertson and Fields and that Robertson "did not like Fields at all", that Robertson thought of Fields as a "wimp" for not "taking on the denominations hard enough".   That is from The Knight Shift if you go to look at it the date is 8/31/2008 06:59:00 PM.   Is any of this true?   You can also check out this site all they talk about is the Church of Christ  Answering the Church of Christ  Johnny talks a whole lot on here.  I would like to see you on TV again.  Please tell me if you are going to be back on WGSR 39 or if you are still preaching at Danville.    Thanks

The Godhead vs. Oneness Pentecostalism

Three Persons In One Divine NatureMany Bible Q-n-A readers are probably already familiar with John "Apostolic." He has been an active commenter on the Bible Q-n-A web site for some time and, most recently, has taken up the discussion of Holy Spirit Baptism. Please see the Holy Spirit vs. Water category for all the posts in that discussion.

I am making this post as a starting point for another discussion between John and myself on the topic of the Godhead. John holds to the Oneness Pentecostal doctrine of the Godhead, which strongly rejects the Trinitarian view of the Three Persons of the Godhead. Because I believe the Trinitarian view to be the biblical doctrine I will be defending this position. I will not, however, be referring to my position as the "Trinitarian" position as the Bible does not use the term "Trinity," "Holy Trinity," "Trinitarian," or the like. I believe the term accurately portrays the biblical doctrine, however, the Bible uses the term "Godhead" and so that is the term I will use. I will show that the Bible presents the Godhead as the one true Divine Nature and that there are Three Persons possessive of that Divine Nature - Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19).

John has started off the discussion with the attached document stating his position. Click here to download.
